Hello my name is Warren alias C.W. the
Canadian Wolverine or what ever I'v been
called worse, I have a story to tell it
involves myself As some of the people
know on this board I am an electrician
in a lumber manufacturing facility I have
been in the Trade for approx. 20 years
and have been able to work safely without
incident I thank the lord. However this
past weekend I made aware of the dangers
of this chosen profession and was very
fortunate. I was working as usual our
facility is in an upset condition right
now (lots going on) I was doint testing
of equipment as usual however in my
complacency I did something unsafe and
was met with 600 volts through my right
hand and right side of my body before I
new it I was in an ambulance hooked up
to AKG's and what have I was concsience
and was wondering what the f--uu--ck I
just did as it all worked out I am FINE
no electricy went through my chest but
I have burn marks on my right hand
(A Reminder) of how close things can be
the mill manager came to the hospital and
checked on me, letting my family know
my wife my parents that everything was
going to be ok I told my kids when I got
home. I am telling this because you must
cherish what you have Give your loved
ones a hug LIFE is a gift, I will be
going back to work on my regular shift
a little wiser. And greatful to be so
lucky to have this life A TRUE GIFT
I hope I never put my family through
this again remember grab a loved one
and give them a hug.

I'm glad you're okay.
It's really too bad how something like that makes us appreciate what we sometimes take for granted, huh ?
Best,
Patrick

That's a wonderful sentiment. Luckily most people have a family that cares. Unfortunately, not every one has a family that cares.

CW,
I glad to hear you're okay. Sometimes it takes an experience like yours to make us realize how truly precious life is. All the things we take for granted and love can be gone in an instant. It also makes you realize material things aren't nearly as important as we once thought they were. That everything we truly need can be summed up by the warmth of that hand in ours as we lay in bed. Give your wife an extra hug tonight.

Warren,
Thank goodness that you were not hurt more seriously. Life is way to short to rush through.
Take care of yourself, my friend.
